It's a beautiful winter evening in North India, and what better to chill in this chill than to write a blog.

So folks, today I shall be writing about a world renowned electronic trade show that goes by the name "CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW"  aka CES. CES is traditionally held every year, organized by the CONSUMER TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION. All the leading edge products and technologies belonging to the category of consumer electronics are on display in this showstopper event.

What makes this year special for all CES enthusiasts is the fact that CES has turned 50 this year, and just like Arnold Schwarzenegger, it is indeed getting better with age. This year was epochal in many respects, mainly due to the cutting edge technologies on display,that will pioneer a whole new era of consumer entertainment. The event was replete with such path breaking techs that blew people's mind as well as some that just left people awestruck.

Before voyaging into the benchmark innovations that were unleashed this year, I would first like to enunciate a brief history of this event on this landmark milestone.

The very first ever CES was organized in the year 1967, and the place that witnessed the origination of this event was New York City.Up untill then, it was the famous Chicago Music Show that was the exhibition for consumer electronics. I would also like to apprise my readers with another trivia that the first speaker on that momentous day, who kicked off things in style, was Motorola chairman Mr Bob Calvin.

Well, coming back to the present, the CES this year was held at Las Vegas, NV. A whole lot of world renowned companies such as Asus, Dell, Lenovo, Samsung, Sony,LG etc displayed a whole array of mind boggling techs that have grabbed headlines world over. The event was deluged by a plethora of smart gadgets like cameras, mobiles, monitors as well as ambitious projects such as robots and drones. I have catalogued some of the prime innovations that really caught The Lone Wolf's attention, and I hope my readers will find them worth drooling over too.

So without much further ado, let's get started!

1. FARADAY FF91 - A WINDOW TO THE FUTURE OF CARS!

Now this was a stunning revelation from Faraday that grabbed eyeballs all through the tech bonanza. It's one of the most magnificently engineered beasts that boasts of an implausible 380 miles. The designing of this car is classically sleek and has a futuristic electrically powered propulsion. This car has also been programmed to even drive as well park itself. Many would say that it will give Faraday Future the fighting plank to contest against Tesla cars. Riding on Faraday Future's Variable Platform Architecture (VPA), this resplendent beast would surely be my pick for the best innovation at the event.

2. LG OLED W TV - TELEVISION REDEFINED!

The W in this LG marvel stands for " Wallpaper ". This letter has been designated to this TV for one simple reason, it is indeed a wallpaper. This master TV is so much thin that you can actually paste it on your wall! Yes, you read that right. This amazing TV comes equipped with tech that can deliver unbelievable contrast and colour, coupled with HDR 4K resolution. Gasconading a width of just about 0.1 inches, this TV still manages lifelike colour production and a pretty vivid display.

3. POWER VISION POWER RAY DRONE - LET'S GO FISHING!

This is an innovation that would surely have enthralled fishing aficionados. To put it simply, this is a done that will help you catch your fish with quick efficiency. It can easily be connected to your Android or iOS smartphone, on which you shall receive live hd videos of your game via the drone camera. This smart drone uses the age old SONAR technology to detect it's prey within the 30 m wide circle. Coupled with a VR headgear, this device can surely tech up your fishing expedition.

4. MOHU AIRWAVE - THE DREAM OF WIRELESS TV REALISED!

The sole ambition of Mohu behind this enigmatic innovation was simple, cut the cord. The Mohu airwave is wireless TV antenna that is capable of receiving over the air (OTA) TV broadcast signals and cast the video stream to any digitally able device compatible with the inhouse Mohu TV app. Simply connect your Airwave to a high speed wifi connection for optimal reception and the Mohu app will stream live TV content in real-time. This amazing device comes equipped with ClearPixTM technology, a cutting edge technique that counters pixelation and thus provides vivid OTA viewing experience. Mohu engineers hope that people will say goodbye to cumbersome wired TV sets and switch to this highly futuristic TV viewing experience.

5. ACER PREDATOR 21X - THE GODFATHER OF GAMING LAPTOPS!

For those who prefer slim laptops, this might not really be their cup of tea. This marvellous tech can best be defined as a hybrid of a laptop and a high end gaming PC rig. I myself being an owner of a PS4 was personally overawed by this magnificent beast of gaming rigs. It comes bedecked with a 21 inch curved display, powered by dual GEFORCE GTX 1080 GPUs. The resolution is a stunning 2560×1080 pixels coupled with a 120Hz refresh rate. The punch behind this mean machine comes from Intel's 3.9GHz seventh gen Intel core silicon powerhouse. Well I can go on and on about the innumerable specs of this rig, but I must warn all those drooling over this machine that you really gotta dig deep into your pockets before you can lay your hands on one of these.

Well, there were several other pioneering inventions that are really going to change the way we use technology, but these above listed techs are indeed the raw deals according to me.

One thing is for sure, the CES serves as a perfect periscope to view the future from the today, and going by the techs on offer, the future is tech packed!
